How’s your day going? If you haven’t had a smile yet today (and I hope that isn’t the case), then I invite you to take a moment and click on Operation Eyesight’s YouTube channel. Like magic: instant smile!

Our YouTube page is a great place to see images and videos of the people we have helped, thanks to generous support from our donors.

Within moments, you will meet people whose lives have been transformed by our generous donors. You’ll see Ian, a four-year old boy from Kenya who almost lost his sight because of an eye injury; and Laison, a grandfather from Zambia, now recovered from cataract surgery and joking with his family again.

Be sure to check out Light and Life, a short documentary about our community health workers in the slums of Hyderabad, India.

You’ll also be able to watch “SEE This?,” an original animated video created for Operation Eyesight in honour of World Sight Day 2011. The video, designed by our talented friends at Umbrella Pro, asks the provocative question, “What would you do with extra cash?” You might buy a coffee, or go to a movie… or you could choose to restore someone’s eyesight and change their life.

So the next time you need a good news story and a guaranteed smile, remember to check out our channel. And be sure to return on World Sight Day 2012 on October 11, when we’ll release our second animated video, “Who Cares?”

We’d love to hear your feedback on our videos; don’t forget to post your comments!
